BCT needle cylinders – a great asset when it comes to the annual maintenance review
Updated 6 February 2024: BCT needle cylinders are as useful to rotary blow moulding machines as they were when they were launched. When it comes to annual maintenance, the quality and longevity of a PHD product is hard to beat.
2 November 2017: Did you know PHD offers more effective needle cylinders for rotary blow moulding machines? The newly released Series BCT Needle Cylinder is a direct replacement for the OEM cylinders used in continuous extrusion wheel moulds. The BCT Needle Cylinder features a non-rotating shaft design to keep needle tip in the correct orientation with standard NPT ports for extend, retract and blow. There are two types, the BCT1 is a standard manifold and the BCT2 version is a high flow design that increases run time between cleaning of “plate out” material. Both types are available in three bore sizes. All units have standard internal shock pads on extend and retract, are lubricated (lubricant per FDA Regulation 21CFR 178.3570) internally for life of the cylinder, and offer an option for mirrored porting and shaft.
Major benefits include:
- Direct OEM replacement
- Non-Rotating shaft to keep needle tip in correct orientation
- High flow version increases run time between cleaning of “plate out” material
- Standard NPT ports for extend, retract and blow
- Internal shock pads standard on extend and retract
- Lubricated internally at the factory for the life of the cylinder, PHD uses FDA food grade lubrication
- BCT2 designed for high flow, easy clean applications
- Option -H96 for mirrored porting and non-rotating shaft, designed to help eliminate machine interferences
- Cylinders are easily field repairable to maximize your investment
